Metropolitan Transportation Plan
Each MPO must prepare a Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), in accordance with 49 USC 5303(i), to accomplish the objectives outlined by the MPO, North Carolina, and the public transportation providers with respect to the development of the metropolitan area’s transportation network.
Navigate 2050 is the New Bern Region Area’s latest long-range plan, a blueprint for the future of our region’s transportation system. It outlines strategies and projects to improve how people and goods move - by car, bus, bike, air, rail, or on foot. Developed with input from the public, local governments, and transportation agencies, the MTP aims to support growth, enhance safety, reduce congestion, and promote sustainability.
