Amendment 8 & 9 to the 2026-2035 MTIP

The 2026-2035 Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Programs (MTIPs) identify state and federally funded transportation investments within the New Bern Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Area.

Amendment 8 modifies funding at the request of the Division of Planning and Programming for the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center and modifies preliminary engineering funding from Federal to State for passenger rail crossing safety improvements. Amendment 9 increases the cost of right of way for the roundabout at NC 55 and US 17 Business Intersection in New Bern.

These amendments will enable transportation projects to continue to move through the planning, design, right-of-way, and construction phases. Public comments will be received through April 7, 2026.
