0 Comment(s) | Posted

Tuesday, March 30, 2016 was a pivotal day in Eastern North Carolina.

An unveiling ceremony was held in Goldsboro for a new interstate that will run from Goldsboro, NC to Morehead City, NC.  Members of the NCDOT, City of Goldsboro, Wayne County, Super 70 Corridor Commission, and US House of Representatives joined Governor Pat McCrory at the ceremony.

Governor McCrory relayed, "...connectivity will mean future jobs and future economic development and it will also help the ag community transport their products to and from the market."   This is part of the 25-year transportation plan that will help with tourism, travel and economic development.

The unveiling took place on a 12 mile stretch of current U.S. Highway 70.  The future interstate does not have a number yet.
